5 items to include in your social media policy

I spend quite a lot of time thinking about social media policies and guidelines and have used the relevant US military documents a few times, since they are generally very well thought out and to the point. I just came across this PowerPoint presentation that was written for army units that want to have their own social media channels and helps them define their own social media policies.

The five items outlined in this short presentation are just as valid for an overall organizational policy or for any organization with many branches.

What items would you add to this list?

  • One important thing to remember here is that people in your organization should always be aware is that they can't post things pertaining to sensitive things in social media.
