Social Media for Good

Exploring the use of digital communications tools for NGOs, non-profit organizations and to support humanitarian relief

The Georgetown University’s center for social impact communication has just release a free guide to “Communicating via Imagery“.

The 44 page booklet is straight to the point and very practical.

It is the result of interviews and surveys with 140 US based nonprofit organizations and covers the basics as well as ideas on how you could organize your photo database or how to deal with professional photographers and celebrities.

Unfortunately there is no mention of creative commons licenses, which in my opinion is one of the biggest gaps of the guide. Nevertheless it’s well worth downloading and reading.
